Boy Scouts & Varsity Scouts

Do five activities, including the two with an asterisk (*)

* Earn the World Conservation Award for Boy Scouts (at any time since becoming a registered Boy Scout)

* Contribute to the World Friendship Fund through your Troop and learn how this money is used to help Scouts in other parts of the world [There is no 'minimum contribution'.]

All money collected should be submitted directly to the International Division of the Boy Scouts of America National Office.

Learn what each of the parts of the World Crest mean and design a simple ceremony to share this knowledge with a group of Cub Scouts or Webelos

Find out about Scouting in another country:  What age levels do they have?  What does their Scout badge look like?  What is their promise?  What is their highest rank? Make a display to share what you learned with others.

Learn about the World Organization of Scouting Movement (WOSM). Make a display or a verbal presentation to share what you learned with others.

 

Earn either the American Culture merit badge
or an Interpreter strip

 

Host an individual or group of foreign students at a dinner, a meeting or a campout weekend where activities are planned so that you learn about their country/countries.

Prepare a list of questions in advance.  Be sure every member of the group has an opportunity to ask at least one question.



With a group of Cub Scouts and or Webelos, help plan and execute an international dinner

If this is done at the Pack level, each Den may design their table(s) to represent a different country.  Decorations could include the nation's flag & map.  Samples of the country's food and songs could also be a part of the program.

Participate in an international Scout jamboree/camporee (either in the US or another country).  Share your experiences with a Cub Scout, Webelos or Boy Scout unit.

Host a Scout (or a group of Scouts) from another country who are on tour in your area.

As an individual or with other members of your Troop take a trip to another country, including a visit to one of their Scout activity centers and participation in an activity with one of their Scout units.

Individuals or groups traveling abroad should apply for an ‘International Letter of Introduction’ from the B.S.A. International Division. 

Participate in Jamboree-on-the-Air (JOTA) or Jamboree-on-the Internet (JOTI) .  Share your experience with Cub Scouts, Webelos or another Scout patrol.

Assist a minimum of one Den (Cub Scouts or Webelos) or one Patrol (Boy Scouts or Varsity Scouts) or a Venture Unit in completing all of the requirements for their International Activity Patch
